SECONDLY, drilling (OPENING)on the top  surface (grinding surface)of the tooth and reaching the root canals and extracting the infected part(containing bacteria)  and also removing blood vessels and nerves causing pain and discomfort leaving the tooth structure intact.
THIRDLY, STERILIZATION(MEDICAMENTS)of the root canals (disinfecting ) and filling(RESTORATION)with them with protective medication.
FINALLY, leaving the tooth for a week to check in case if  any recurrance of pain or swelling comes up after giving the temporary restoration(filling).
LAST STEP :PERMANENT RESTORATION WITH A CROWN(CAP):
Finally the permanent restoration given with a crown(cap) given over it which is mandatory to preserve the teeth as the tooth become brittle and  may break(FRACTURE).
